How to Make it
Feelings Robot
MATERIALS
motor
battery holder
AA batteries x 2
plastic connector
cup
bead
Googly eyes x 2
pipe cleaner x 6
colored markers x 3
corrugated paper x 2
masking tape
double-sided foam tape
STEP 1
Use a pipe cleaner to connect the bead to the plastic connector.
Put the pipe cleaner through the bead.
Make sure the plastic connector is facing that way.
Connect the pipe cleaner to the bottom hole.
Twist the pipe cleaner to tie the bead in place.
STEP 2
Connect the plastic connector to the motor.
Use the desk to help push the connector to the motor.
STEP 3
Tape the motor and battery holder onto the cup.
Twist the copper ends on the battery holder.
Connect wires to the motor.
Red wire to the right side.
Twist the copper end more so that it’s easier to put through the hole.
Repeat again for the black wire.
Black wire to the left side.
Put double sided tape on the motor and battery holder.
Draw a clock on top of the cup.
Put the motor on top of the cup at 4 o’clock.
Put the battery holder on the side of the cup at 12 o’clock.
STEP 4
Put in the batteries.
Match the negative ends of the batteries to the negative ends inside the battery holder.
STEP 5
Tape the paper over the battery holder.
Take one corrugated paper, measure the paper to 6 cm and 15 cm.
Cut out the rectangle.
Use double-sided tape and tape one side of the paper.
Use masking tape and tape the other side of the paper.
STEP 6
Tape on the markers.
Draw on the top of the cup the times 2 o’clock, 6 o’clock, and 10 o’clock.
Use masking tape to tape on the markers at 2 o’clock, 6 o’clock, and 10 o’clock.
STEP 7
Test the balance and adjust the markers.
Turn on the robot by flipping the switch.
If the robot is falling over, then you need to adjust the height of the markers on the cup.
STEP 8
Decorate your Feelings Robot.
Use double-sided tape to tape on the googly eyes, mouth, and eyebrows.
You can make curly hair, but twisting them on a marker or pen.
You can change out the markers for brighter colors.
